This service is operated by an individual based in Germany. Regardless of where you are accessing the service from, Curt von Guionneau is the person responsible for your personal data described in this policy.
The service has several separate parts, and what we process depends on which part you use.
Your email address, chosen password, sign-in state and free-reading counter are currently stored only locally in your own browser (localStorage) and are not transmitted to us. Once account handling moves to our server, this policy will be updated accordingly.
When you buy paid access we process: your email address, a transaction reference, the date of purchase, the amount and currency, the payment method used, and your access or subscription status. We receive this from our checkout provider, Payhip. We never hold card or bank details — those stay with Stripe or PayPal.
If you use the "Withdraw from contract" or "Cancel your contract here" button, we process what you enter — your email address, which contract, the payment method, a name if you choose to give one, and, for an extraordinary cancellation, the reason you give — together with the date and time your declaration reached us. We do this to perform the contract and because the law requires us to confirm receipt and be able to evidence it (§ 312k, § 356a BGB).
Loading the site produces standard technical logs (IP address, time of access, resource requested, amount of data transferred, browser type). These are processed by our hosting provider to run the site securely — see Section 5.
Where any of these process data outside your home country or outside the EU/EEA, the transfer relies on that provider's own safeguards — Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy mechanism. Please see their linked policies for details.
You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or port your data, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. You may contact the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. To exercise any of these rights with us directly, contact the email address in Section 1.
We do not sell your personal data. Depending on your state, you may have rights similar to those under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) — including the right to know what data we hold about you and to request its deletion — regardless of which US state you're in, since we apply the same standard to all US users rather than varying by state law. Contact us using the details in Section 1 to exercise these rights. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose that would require an opt-out under CCPA or similar state laws.

The Service uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking technologies. Sign-in state, your chosen password, your language choice and the free-reading counter are stored only locally in your browser (localStorage) and are never transmitted to us. Fonts are served from our own server, so nothing is fetched from a third party unless you click a link.
Data reaches us when you actively submit a form — withdrawal, cancellation or password reset — or when you move to the Payhip checkout.
Should this change in future (for example through the addition of analytics), this policy will be updated accordingly and a cookie consent banner added where required.
